This currently is the only watercolor paint I sell that is NOT 100% natural earth pigment. Instead, the pigmentation comes from finely ground charcoal. All naturally sourced from a Minnesota campfire that’s seen love, laughter, and lots of marshmallow roasting.
When you paint with the charcoal watercolors, you’ll notice that it moves and behaves differently, as if it has a life of its own. It is exciting to use when mixing with other colors, or as a standalone bold black. When layered, it appears almost 3-D.
